STSM

Short Term Scientific Missions – Six grants awarded

We are pleased to announce the first six grants for Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM) under the COST Action MiCropBiomes.

Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) are exchange visits for researchers within their COST Action. STSMs are great opportunities for researchers to share techniques and gain skills that may not be available at their home institution or laboratory.

For the first grant period of the COST Action MiCropBiomes, nine STSM applications were received, six of which were approved by the STSM Committee. We are pleased to announce that six STSM grants were awarded to:

  • Duška Delić (University of Banjaluka, Bosnia and Herzegovina): Exploring microbial communities in virus-infected raspberry plants
  • Núria Giralt Mitjans (Universitat de Girona, Spain): Metagenomic analysis of a microbial communities targeting 16S
  • Mária Neoralová (Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic): Molecular characterization of lytic bacteriophages infecting Xanthomonas campestris
  • Gordana Racic (Educons University, Sremska Kamenica, Serbia): Effects of Trichoderma species on metabolomic profile of tomato fruits as modulated by the organic/conventional farming systems
  • Daniel Revillini (Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas, Sevilla, Spain): Exploring the decomposition-selected microbiome potential to promote seed performance
  • Sara Rodrigues (Instituto Pedro Nunes – Association for Innovation and Development in Science and Technology, Coimbra, Portugal): Exploring kiwifruit phyllosphere microbiota for the selection of functional strains suitable for biobased solutions to enhance the holobiont resistance to stresses and diseases
