  • D5.1: Website creation: the Action network will create and update during the action duration a website with main achievements (WG5 / Month 3)
  • D5.2: The Action Network will release Press newsletters on the COST activities and the main achievements, periodically highlighting key networks, joint collaborations, and main achievements (WG5 / Month 12, 24, 36 & 48)

Five grant period goals (GPGs) were defined for the first grant period (Nov 2023 – Oct 2024):

  • Establish for each WG, the subgroups and strategies for the respective topics: (i) Challenges related to phytobiomes’ performance (e.g., molecular level, phytobiomes’ dynamics, etc.); (ii) Terminology; (iii) Applications and case studies (e.g., methods, case studies of (a)biotic conditioning)
  • Define in each WG the strategy to review the state of the art on the respective topic (e.g., elaborate a perspective paper integrating one topic)
  • Establish two core working subgroups to discuss the strategy to adopt to obtain the databases and associated indicators/variables. This GPG is particularly important for the WG2, WG3 and WG4, considering the microbiome taxa and crop species as models. (i) Each WG selects 1-4 model crops and works on their microbiota. (ii) Each WG starts elaborating the lists of: PGPs / BCAs / Other-Phages/virus.
  • Establish for each WG the strategy to networking with experts inside/outside the Action (e.g., bioinformatics) and communication tools. (i) Site; Logo; Poster; Brochure; Social media (to be finalised by December); (ii) Compile a list of labs offering training internships/visits: (1) Title; (2) Responsible; (3) Objectives and description; (4) Period.
  • Strengthen communication channels (i) within the network with existing Action members; (ii) towards researchers in fields in deficit in the Action (e.g., bioinformatics) and considering Y/ITC profiles; and (iii) with stakeholders.
