Short Term Scientific Missions – First ten STSM grants for 2025 awarded
We are pleased to announce the first ten grants for Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM) under the COST Action MiCropBiomes.
Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs) are exchange visits for researchers within their COST Action. STSMs are great opportunities for researchers to share techniques and gain skills that may not be available at their home institution or laboratory.
For the second grant period of the COST Action MiCropBiomes, the first ten STSM grants were awarded to:
- Núria Daranas Boadella (University of Girona, Spain): Construction of GFP- or mCherry-labelled Pseudomonas and Azospirillum strains
- Sofija Kostandinovska (University of Skopje, North Macedonia): Molecular characterization of antimicrobial genes in Bacillus species for enhanced plant protection
- Eliza Loo (Heinrich-Heine-Universität, Düsseldorf, Germany): Rice phyllobiome dynamics during bacterial blight disease development
- Aleksandra Mesaroš (University of Belgrade, Serbia): The role of HCN-producing endophytes in improving the stress resistance of potatoes
- Sofia Montanari (University of Trento, Italy): Investigating the impacts of a new sustainable fungicide on plant-associated microbial communities
- Marija Nedeljković (University of Belgrade, Serbia): Characterization of Type 3 secretion system (T3SS) operon structure and expression in Pseudomonas marginalis OL141, a beneficial isolate of sugar beet
- Dejana Panković (Julius Kühn Institute, Quedlinburg, Germany): The effect of bacterial priming inducers on microbial communities of two spring barley accessions under natural disease occurrence in the field
- Gordana Racić (Educons University, Sremska Kamenica, Serbia): Soil microbial community composition altered by microplastic pollution
- Robin Thibert (Institute of Experimental Botany, Prague, Czech Republic): Generation of the mutant library of Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato for bacteriophage specificity testing
- Anže Vozelj (National Institute of Biology, Ljubljana, Slovenia): In-depth characterization of endophytic Fusarium oxysporum isolate
